Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) Strengthen Your Technical Competence The Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) is a unique valuation certification program designed to train and accredit professionals who value distressed assets, including distressed and/or bankrupt companies. In Part 1 of the CDBV program professionals develop an understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and its impact on the valuation of distressed businesses (waived for CIRAs and CTPs). Valuation concepts and principles are discussed in Part 2, and then in Part 3, applicants learn how to apply these concepts to the valuation of distressed debt and businesses, including chapter 11. Course and Examination Format The CDBV course of study is divided into three parts:
AIRA is a nationwide not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of business turnaround, restructuring and bankruptcy practitioners. Our goals are to foster an understanding of the insolvency, reorganization and business turnaround practice, to gain recognition for our members’ specialized services, to sponsor relevant education programs and to administer the Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and the Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) programs.
