In the recent credit crunch, when bank lenders
were shrinking their commitments, a new breed of aggressive
and creative lenders filled the funding gap for distressed
and emerging companies. These Tranche B lenders are
a little like asset-based lenders, mezzanine investors,
high yield buyers and hedge funds all rolled into one.
