5K Run/Walk: |
Join us for a
5K run/walk along Seattle's
beautiful Green Lake. According to the American Podiatric
Medical Association, Seattle ranks as the third Best Walking
City in the nation. One of the city favorites is the path
around Green Lake. Nestled in north Seattle, this natural
lake is surrounded by a 323.7 acre park with numerous recreational
possibilities, including: paddleboats, playgrounds, fishing,
swimming and wading pools, ball-fields and basketball courts,
lawn bowling, and more. The natural beauty and changing seasons
provide something different with each visit.

Each year Frank leads a group ranging from novice to seasoned
paddlers, adding fun and flare to the day’s outing.

This tour begins
with a short ride via the Washington State Ferry to Bainbridge
Island, stopping to enjoy lunch at Café
Nola and shop at a few small boutiques before continuing
on to The
Bloedel Reserve. The Reserve comprises approximately 150
acres on Bainbridge Island, where it is blessed by the mild,
moist climate of Puget Sound. With 84 acres of second growth
forest, the remainder of the island boasts beautiful landscapes,
including several gardens, ponds and meadows. The Reserve
was once the home of the Bloedel Family, which is primarily
responsible for its growth and development.
