President's Letter
Dear AIRA Members:
The Certified Insolvency and
Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) program continues to be the hallmark
of the AIRA’s efforts to enhance the professional skills
of those of us practicing in the areas of restructuring and insolvency.
To date, since the program’s founding in 1992, 540 restructuring
professionals have earned the CIRA designation. Seven more are
in the final review process. Another 290 professionals have completed
the three-part examination process and are in the process of completing
the related requirements of work experience and professional recommendations.
The value of the CIRA is reinforced to its holders each time a
CIRA undergoes voir dire. Judges and lawyers alike recognize the
special skills of the professional who is a CIRA. As the body
of knowledge related to restructuring and insolvency evolves and
expands, so too do the rigors of the CIRA examination. By regularly
updating the CIRA examination AIRA maintains the integrity of
the process and its meaning in the marketplace. If you haven’t
begun the process of achieving the CIRA designation, look to the
AIRA’s website today (www.airacira.org) to register for
one of the upcoming training and examination sessions.
AIRA continues to flourish as
the education oriented financial professional’s organization
in the restructuring and insolvency arena. The AIRA’s total
membership now stands at 1,674. The upcoming conference in San
Francisco (June 4-7) promises to be one of the AIRA’s best.
Registration results to date indicate that this may be one of
the AIRA’s best-attended conferences ever.
Best Regards,
Jim Lukenda
