AIRA President’s
Letter |
Dear AIRA Members:
The Association is planning activities
for the 21st Annual Bankruptcy & Restructuring Conference
to be held in Boston in the year 2005. In the interim, we also
offer educational and networking opportunities in many locations.
The Advanced Plan of Reorganization Conference
and Reception, held October 4th in New York City, was an excellent
opportunity for educational advancement for our members and for
others. Conferences offer a sound platform to invite legal and
turnaround/reorganization professionals to attend and introduce
them to the Association. Our gratitude goes out to Ernst &
Young for providing the venue, and to our sponsors: Arent Fox
Kintner Plotkin & Kahn, PLLC, Kaye Scholer LLP and Standard
and Poore’s.
The next AIRA Networking Reception was held on
October 7, 2004 in Michigan at the Westin Southfield-Detroit.
If you missed it, please join us in Boston on October 25, 2004
at the Boston Harbor Hotel. These receptions provide an excellent
forum for AIRA Members to invite investment bankers and attorneys
to discuss the added value that CIRAs bring to their cases. If
you would like to host or sponsor such an event, please call the
AIRA office.
“Challenging Issues Faced By Chief Restructuring
Officers” will be the subject of the AIRA Breakfast Panel
at the NCBJ on October 12th. A seasoned panel has been assembled
and it promises to be an event worth attending. I look forward
to meeting several of our Members at the NCBJ Breakfast.
The AIRA News has been receiving rave reviews.
Most importantly, it provides an avenue for members to contribute
articles on subjects of current interest. Please encourage members
of your firm to submit brief articles or experiences that can
be shared with our membership.
Best wishes,
Soneet R. Kapila
President
