AIRA
President’s Letter
Soneet R. Kapila |
Dear AIRA Members:
The new Bankruptcy Bill greets
our profession as Spring is around the corner. Our 21st Annual
Restructuring Conference in June 2005 will address how this Bill
impacts different facets of our work as insolvency professionals.
The Conference co-chairs and the Planning Committee have structured
a powerful agenda covering topics of continued interest including
Sarbanes Oxley, cross-border insolvencies, distressed business
financing and alternative dispute resolution in bankruptcy and
insolvency matters. Of course, the setting in historic Boston
offers fun filled, leisure activities. Do join us in Boston and
bring your families to enjoy the city.
As promised, the first quarter
of 2005 marked yet another group of successful educational programs
on Recent Developments in Chapter 11 in Park City, Utah, closely
followed by Legal And Financial Perspectives On Business Valuation
And Restructuring (VALCON 2005), co-sponsored by the University
of Texas School of Law in Las Vegas. Both programs were well attended.
The 2nd Regional Networking Reception
in Miami, Florida provided an opportunity for our members to meet
on a local front. Grant Newton honored the new CIRA members. Our
thanks to XRoads Solutions Group for sponsoring this reception.
Our New York Advanced Plan of
Reorganization Seminar was extremely well received, and by popular
demand, the Association plans to bring this topic to San Francisco
and New York in 2005. Please visit our website
or call 541-858-1665 for more information.
Best wishes,
Soneet R. Kapila
